History of ADOC

Business History: Abu Dhabi Oil Co., Ltd. (Japan)

December 6 1967 A concession agreement for Mubarraz Field and DALMA Field is signed.
January 17 1968 ADOC celebrates the 30th anniversary of its  establishment.
February 1 1968 The three companies transfer the concession to ADOC.
September   1968 The Mubarraz oil well No.1 successfully produces crude oil.
July   1971 Development of the Mubarraz Oil Field begins.
April   1972 Construction of the Mubarraz Island terminal begins.
May 7 1973 Mubarraz Oil Field starts production.
June 6 1973 The first shipment of Mubarraz crude oil is made.
September 10 1979 The concession in the West Mubarraz area is transferred to MOCO.
June 19 1982 AR well No.1 successfully produces crude oil.
February   1985 Development of AR Oil Field begins.
January   1988 Construction of AR Oil Field production facilities begins.
February   1988 The cumulative production reaches 100 million barrels.(ADOC)
January 10 1989 AR Oil Field starts producing crude oil.
March 5 1989 The first shipment of Mubarraz Blend crude oil (a mixture of Mubarraz crude oil and AR crude oil) is made.
November 20 1992 Crude oil shipments reach a cumulative total of 300 shiploads.
July   1994 Development of GA Oil Field begins.
July 10 1995 GA Oil Field starts producing crude oil.
June 24 1996 ADOC's head office is moved to Shinjuku Daiichi Seimei Building.
March 9 1997 The cumulative production reaches 150 million barrels.(ADOC)
January 17 1998 ADOC celebrates the 30th anniversary of its establishment.
November   2000 A "sour gas" injection project is launched.
May   2001 A "zero-gas-flaring" project is initiated; underground disposal of waste water begins.
January   2002 The cumulative production reaches 50 million barrels.(MOCO)
May   2003 ADOC celebrates the 30th anniversary of its commencement of oil production.
July 27 2004 Crude oil shipments reach a cumulative total of 500 shiploads.
June   2005 The cumulative production reaches 200 million barrels. (ADOC)
January 1 2006 ADOC merges with MOCO.
February 26 2007 ADOC's head office is moved to Tennoz Central Tower.
January 17 2008 ADOC celebrates the 40th anniversary of its establishment.
September 13 2009 The cumulative production reaches 300 million barrels.
July 1 2010 JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation, the present shareholder of ADOC, was established
February 3 2011 Signing of New Concession Agreement for Hail Oil Field as well as for Existing Three Oil Fields
February 23 2012 Achievment of 600 cumulative shipment of crude oil.
December 6 2012 Commencement of New concession agreement.
May 7 2014 ADOC's head office is moved to Hamamatsucho Building.
October 1 2015 Cosmo Energy Holdings Co., Ltd. is established (to become the direct manager of Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd.).
January 1 2016 The Japanese name of JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation is changed.
November 8 2017 Production begins in the Hail Oil Field.
November 23 2017 First shipment of Mubarraz Crude oil (commingled oil from four oil fields)
January 17 2018 The 50th anniversary of ADOC's establishment

August   1966 H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan becomes the ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
June   1967 The Third Middle East War (Six-Day War) breaks out.
August   1970 H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, visits Japan to attend Japan World Exposition Osaka 1970.

August   1988 A cease-fire in the Iran-Iraq War is realized.
May   1990 UAE President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan visits Japan.
August   1990 Iraq invades Kuwait.
January 17 1991 The Gulf War breaks out.
January   1995 Their Imperial Highnesses the Japanese Crown Prince and Crown Princess visit the UAE.
December 2 2001 The UAE marks the 30th anniversary of its establishment.
March 20 2003 The Iraq War breaks out.
November 2 2004 UAE President H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan passes away.
November 3 2004 H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is elected as the new President of the UAE.
